Creators' Labo #016 Jingai Makyo Ignis
Here comes another unexpected review. I decided not to post another typical loot post and proceeded with her review. Why did I buy her? Yamato’s figures ae not good in quality right? Bought her in November for only half price – that’s the reason why I bought her. Her retail price in Japan is 8190yen. The second reason I bought her – she’s castoff-able. Heehee… =3
Yep, I bought her for only 4100 yen. The box is just typical and nothing special or unique. Opening the box, the parts include the figure herself, the tentacle base, her katana, a sub-machinegun, and the base – clear blue plastic. Assembly is easy but it can annoy you since her skirt kinda gets in the way of the tentacles you need to adjust slightly. Like many Yamato figures, she gets the “Non-scale” label while her size, almost 19cm head height with base, is roughly equivalent to that of a 1/8 scale.
The figure is joined to the tentacle base with a single peg on her feet. Worry about leaning? Need not. The tentacle actually is in contact with her left thigh which supports the figure in terms of weight. You can swap the weapons between her right and left grip. Upper outfit and skirt is removable.
Here’s a summary of pros and cons of this figure:
Pros: Dynamic posing, unique base, highly detailed, well-painted outfit, castoff-able outfit, very detailed katana
Cons: Inconsistent paint job on edges of hair, fragile pegs on upper outfit, seam line obvious for lower skirt at the pegs section
Ok, inconsistent paint jobs are common on Yamato figures, and fortunately it’s only her hair and not throughout the whole figure. I don’t really have high expectations for her but at least I’m satisfied with what I get. The paints on the edges of hair strips tend to be saturated (Bleeding) – they are not as sharp and paint job is not as even as some Good Smile’s figures (refer the best example – Konjiki no Yami). Paint job on most other sections – outfit, base, katana, are a lot better and detailed. If Yamato could get their paint job on the hair more even, and add some weathering/shading then it would be perfect. The face is just fair, not bad – it could have been better.
On the waist skirt, well, whatever it is called, it is very well-painted but it’s a pity that having a castoff-able gimmick means having seam lines. The connecting peg is rather solid and only on one side (the right side). The left side is joined so you’ll have to twist a bit to remove the skirt.
Hey, wait, I know you are imagining something… XD
The upper outfit is a different story – there are 2 very fragile pegs that locks her upper outfit in position, and I happened to break one of them while removing her top. Please don’t misunderstand – I wasn’t trying to get rough and rape a figure. LOL… It just snapped probably due to my carelessness. But, even with none of the pegs connected, her upper outfit can still stay in place, which is a relief. I don’t want to display her naked at home. Her pai pai is really delicious though… =3
If you are wondering why I censored it, it is all thanks to the fact my photo hosting site doesnt allow oppais with tits to be displayed sigh... Sorry if dissapointed you. =P
On the reason why I bought her, it’s simple. She is on half price sale, castoff-able, and I love sword wielding girls. I haven’t played the game Jingai Makyo before but it seems to be another eroge full of action, clothes-stripping and tearing, tentacles abuse etc. retailing for 8190 yen, the original price, I bet many will hesitate to spend that high for a Yamato figure, except Ignis fans. However, this Ignis is different from the one by Max Factory and Alter, most notably the dynamic pose and castoff factor. And, she is easier to find than the other 2 too.
Last 2 pics are about making use of a suitable backdrop and lighting to snap a better picture of her...
